Barber and Beauty

Bethany Woods Beauty and Barber shop is open Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday each week and is staffed by two Licensed Beauticians.

Resident’s Council

Bethany Woods Resident Council is made up of residents who have an interest in contributing to the betterment of our facility. Our Activity Director takes minutes of these meetings however, the meetings are conducted by the president or vice president, as elected by the resident council every February, or as needed. The Resident Council meets monthly to discuss resident concerns; offer suggestions about policies and procedures affecting residents’ care, treatment and quality of life; to support one another, plan activities; and participate in educational and informational sessions regarding residents’ rights and opportunities. The “Resident Meal of the Month” is also decided at our Resident Council meeting. Our resident council meets every second Wednesday of the month after lunch.

Family Support Groups

Our Social Services Department also hosts the “Spark of Hope” Alzheimer’s and Dementia support Group. This group gives our families and residents affected by dementia related illnesses an opportunity to come together and share their joys and trials with others in similar situations. We meet the second Thursday of February, May, August and November at 2:00 pm in the Blue Bird Cafe. We typically have a guest speaker, door prizes, and refreshments for those in attendance.

Religious Services

Bethany Woods Activity Department offers a variety of religious and spiritual services in the form of church services and musical offerings. We have over 16 churches from a variety of denominations from the Stanly county area that serve our residents with church services, communion, and in-room visits. We also have many singing groups that come on a regular basis to play and sing gospel music in a variety of styles.

Transportation

We provide transportation to and from outside doctor’s appointments.
